Unlike other agronomists and farm advisers, I don't require you to sign up for one or more years, or charge huge fees. Just like your Doctor - I am there when you need me, but otherwise, I leave you alone to get on with things.

Also, unlike other Farm management consultants, you can get a lot of help from me for Free! The information on this website for starters is here for anyone to access. And once you are a client of mine, you can ask any question you like by phone or email without fear of being sent a bill. Its only when I need to visit your property that I need to charge and here too I try to be as flexible as I can.

Within 100km (or so) of Melbourne, I don't charge for travel or other expenses and I have a simple flat fee of $150 per consultation - regardless of how long I need to spend with you.

Soil tests and leaf tests are charged at the normal rates (you can find more details about these by following the links above), but I will include any required sample collections in the consultation as you don't need to pat for my time twice.

If you are much further than 100km from Melbourne, then I will need to charge a bit extra, however, I try to keep this realistic. The general rule is: $50 per additional 100km - up to 400km (or so). However, I will also ignore the travel charge if I can arrange two or three visits in the same area.

If you live further afield than this, it may make more sense to do things as part of a group of friends and neighbors, as I will need to charge per day and add in travel and accommodation expenses. You will find more details about this on my Field days and Farm Walks page.
